Denise Sutherland
Co-author "A Guide for Adults with Hip Dysplasia"
Along with British surgeon Dr Sophie West (also a member of this advisory board), Denise has written
A Guide for Adults with Hip Dysplasia. She is also one of the moderators of the Yahoo Group HipWomen, for women with hip dysplasia.
She was diagnosed with hip dysplasia as a toddler, and had multiple surgeries on her left hip in Australia and the United States (with Professor Wayne Southwick) before the age of 5. Her left hip was replaced in 2009, at age 45. Her right hip is dysplastic as well, and will eventually need to be replaced.
Denise lives in Canberra, Australia, with her astrophysicist husband, their two grown-up children, and two crazy chihuahuas. She is a syndicated puzzle author, with four For Dummies titles to her name, and is a professional graphic designer and indexer.
